Today’s search is largely a reflection of who has the best SEO or paid for a sponsored slot. Scrolling through pages to find promising leads can take a lot of time and often be fruitless.
Alcy rejects ordering and sponsored content in favor of you. The mission is to find the item that meets your criteria, not the one that’s most convenient to return or the one someone paid to rank. Alcy takes your URL and learns what defines it — brand, model, material, color and size — and searches on each of those, well beyond the obvious retailers. That turns up hundreds of listings that might be a match. Alcy checks every one against the original, keeps only the exact product in the right size, works out what you would actually pay, and returns the offers worth acting on with the evidence behind each one.
We have been amazed at what Alcy has found in non-obvious locations. There are often items we would never have found without broadening our search.

Alcy finds the unfindable to save you time and money
When we started building Alcy, our goal was to save ourselves time and money and create an alert system for relevant sales and deals. Assessing hundreds of links, vetting sellers, and checking that they carry the right item in the right color and size would take an entire rainy day. We thought this alone was valuable and addressed a need that existing companies in the space were not meeting.
What we found, though, was that even if we set aside a rainy day for this investigation, we still could not find all the sites Alcy finds. Due to SEO and cookies, search engines surface items they deem relevant to us. Alcy has returned concept stores in Osaka, Florence, and Luxembourg City that all ship internationally. These stores sell items at competitive prices but are effectively hidden from us. Alcy changes this.
When Alcy uncovers a site that would typically be unavailable to us, it will ensure the site ships to your location and that any applicable duties will not make the item more expensive than the same item from a domestic store.

Starting with one capability, intentionally
Alcy is launching with one core capability: give us an item you want, and we’ll find the best available option for you.
That focus is intentional. Alcy could do many things, but we believe the best products start by doing one valuable thing exceptionally well. For us, that means searching beyond the obvious places, evaluating every promising lead and returning the option that is genuinely worth your attention.
This is only the beginning. Over time, we want to make it easier to ask Alcy for help—whether you start a search from a browser extension, send Alcy a text or speak to the agent directly. As Alcy learns more about your taste, sizing and favorite shops, your feed will become a place to discover items chosen specifically for you.
But first, we want to earn your trust by doing one thing: finding the best item.
If the item you desire isn’t available
There will be times when the item you are looking for is not available. Maybe it is sold out in your size everywhere, or the price you want cannot be found. Alcy will make it its mission to find the item for you and will search every day on your behalf with the same depth. This may mean that two months later, you get a message from Alcy saying that a concept store in Calgary, Canada, has the item in your size for 50% off, or that a retailer has restocked your size.
In our experience, with patience, the item we have been yearning for can be ours.
